DIY initial painting

I want to make some presents for the grandparents so I decided on a few paintings. The boys love art projects! So I grabbed a few canvas boards from Hobby Lobby (2pk on sale!!), left over paint from when we painted the walls and other projects, and masking tape.

First I taped off the letter on the canvas

 

Then I let my oldest start with the red. He is 3 and loves coloring in the lines. So when I told him to make a mess it didn't go over so well. 

But the youngest (16m) doesn't mind making a mess so with Mommy's help we did the next 2 colors

I let the colors dry before adding the next so they wouldn't smear too much

Then peel off the masking tape. 

End product turned out great!!
